MITOLOGÍA EGIPCIA
Para ubicar cronológicamente lo que se comprende por mitología egipcia, se entiende por ella el estudio de las creencias que están sustentadas en la religión del Antiguo Egipto, es decir, desde la época predinástica hasta que se impuso el cristianismo, momento en el que esta clase de prácticas se prohibieron durante el mandato de Justiniano I, en el año 535.
Por sus características, la mitología egipcia se desarrolló, influyó y perduró por más de tres mil años, con por supuesto ciertas variaciones que se iban presentando a medida que se avanzaba en el tiempo.
