MITOLOGÍA NÓRDICA

Cuando se habla de mitología nórdica se hace referencia a la mitología escandinava, ya que se conoce con ambos nombres. Con este término se piensan en conjunto las creencias, leyendas y religión de los pueblos escandinavos, incluyendo en este caso a los que se asentaron en Islandia, sitio en el que se reunieron las fuentes escritas de la mitología nórdica.
Hay que empezar por anotar que no se trata de una mitología compartida por los pueblos nórdicos. Además, no se trataba de una religión revelada, ya que no había una verdad que era entregada por parte de los divinos a los mortales, más allá que en algunos relatos hay personas normales aprendiendo las historias de los dioses o se cuentan alguna visita de ellos.
